I want to build a drift car.

so it looks like I have the job offer from tesla, but it would ruin my life. The shift is from 3pm to 1am and work weekends, but have 2 weekdays off. So I would disappear from the face of the planet. But I would have some more money for car stuff hmmm. I think I could get a more regular shift after 6 months or so.

So i accepted the job at tesla. hopefully after 6 months I can get a regular shift. for now I will work nights and weekends. But I made sure to have the 22nd off for the BQQ!!!! hopefully this means more car updates soon!!!! It is going to be so hard for me not to post pictures of prototype/pre-production stuff I have to test!!!! aahhhh!

Congrats on not having to come home dirty (unless the prototype goes horribly wrong). Still dream of having a nice engineering firm in the future where I get dirty by choice on my own awesome projects.

Thanks guys. I will still be working on cars. It will be durability testing and recording data for engineers. They're trying to find possible failures and reproduce 150xxx miles I different conditions. So I have to torque bolts, record stuff, drive it and see if it changes. If I notice anything I take the car apart to check it out and tell the engineers. The real question is when is open shop time. Like when can I get my own cars on the racks. Hopefully their cool with it. It seems like everyone there is I it project cars

So I just found out no working on your own cars in my department at tesla factory I really gotta find a spot now. For the last 2.5 years I have relied on Thursday night shop nights to do stuff on my car. My friends who got jobs at a tesla dealer have shop night every night. Turdz.

Streamlight stinger led flashlights are better than all flashlights that came before combined. Maglites can go suck a dick. A charger, flashlight and two batteries are about 200. My dad lost the one we had and bought another. Now we have two chargers and one light so I might buy my own since the flashlight is only 100. This will be my first personal tool purchase. I generally just use all my dad's tools while he takes care of office shit like ordering parts and dealing with customers.

my Stinger DS LED is the best flashlight I've ever used. worth every penny.

however, I also have this other LED torch I picked up at REI on clearance that is also quite durable for keeping in the car. it's LiPo instead of NiCd like the Stinger, USB chargeable, and has adjustable beam. I don't even remember the last time I charged it, the battery life is insane. only thing sucky about it compared to the Stinger is probably that it isn't anywhere near as bright, but still useable.

Bought new wheels for my nitro drift rc car because it needed some dishhhhhhhhh. Now i need to see if i can pull the fenders out back and throw hella camber up front. It doesn't look that bad in the pic but it is.

i feel like for the last year and a half car stuff has sucked. i was really bummed about flipping the miata and what a piece of shit the q45 turned out to be (with my help). then killing the motor in the miata was disheartening, although totally worth it. dealing with 240 fuckers pissed me off more than anything. people changing prices, not shipping things or shipping the wrong things, acting shady, and flakers took their toll. but finally thanks to my friends the 240 got running right and looking good and it feels like it has made up for all of the mixed feelings i had towards building cars. thank you fuckers for all your help and negative reinforcement and beers lol

yaay! the q45 and miata can still be cool as well! did you already sell off the cool parts for the Q to do the swap and stuff? The miata is the next drift project?

i used all of the adjustable arms from the q on the s13 and sold the motor and stuff. it's dead, we just haven't gotten around to scrapping it yet. yeah miata is "next" but idk if i'll have time for it or be able to insert myself back into the miata life haha and i still have a few things to finish up on the s13 before i can attempt to turn my focus to the miata.

is somebody going to go v8 and manual trans on a s13 with that Q stuff? insert yourself back into the miata? bru...you collected all the cool stuff for that car as well! what else is left on the s13? just lil stuff or you doing sr20?
