well isnt that great. off center as in front to back or side to side? if its side to side i know there is a lil play in those bolts and you can loosen them then shift the rear beam with a pry bar
The Professor
Mar 12 2011, 05:26 AM
Side to side. I just loosened the bolts and kicked it a few times and measured it. It's off to the drivers side by like 1/16" so its cool enough.

read up on www.bobistheoilguy.com
you learn alot about what is good and what is bullshit when it comes to oil, and how those mobil one and k&n filters are really overpriced garbage.
as for filters i like wix, they are great and about 6 bucks.
for oil in synthetic i liked the shell rotella t6 synthetic. its a 5-40 so you get good cold start flow but good viscosity once the oil heats up.
also the pennzoil platinum was supposed to be pretty decent. just kinda have to look at the forum and see what people like
Andrevas
Mar 13 2011, 10:28 AM
yeah anything over a 5 weight cold is kind of dumb/pointless since oil thins out regardless what it's rated for between cold and operating temps, 0 weight is better but hard to find. 0/5W is definately easier on startup to your engine, even if you live in FL, that's the nature of multigrade oils and being able to engineer such a thing. so a 5W40 synthetic would offer pretty decent protection all around if you drive hard.
+1 for reading up over at bobistheoilguy.com, should help you pick out a quality oil and understand other things about it like the difference between what some brands call synthetic that's not really true synthetic (Group III hydrocracked gas-to-liquid petro basestock oil, only considered a synthetic in the US) and actually true synthetic (Group IV PAO/Group V ester basestock)
I personally run turbodiesel synthetic (Mobil1 5W40 turbodiesel) for the higher detergent content and add Redline additive since pretty much no off the shelf oil due to the newest API standards for emissions compliance contain not much phosphorus/zinc at all, when engines designed to work with that were designed only very recently.
