i think the gl2 is under rated. it can have some really nice colors, just as good as the vx1000.

good colors, but mine was janky and falling apart after 3 years as a high school vid production camera and then 4 or 5 of skateboard/bmx/snowboard abuse. mine randomly decided to not switch over the record mode right before we went to balcony and it would have been $120 to get it fixed. i'd rather have hdd than mini-dv any day. i think panasonic hdc-hs300k looks pretty damn good for the price.

Today, near top of 3rd (70-75mph) banked on-ramp carrying speed, downshift to 2nd through toll plaza, accelerate, redline, 3rd, redline, lots of smoke billowing out behind me.... smelled of oil. I kept on it knowing it just had to make it home (worst case) and finish my motor to swap it in.

Motor sounds and runs fine. Did a few pulls on 90 and no smoke. Probably oil past the rings or something.

1zz is on it's way out... maybe?

Plugs are all clean, no smell of oil. no leaks. I think it must have been a 1 time thing. So odd.
