Sounds like a case of the clutch, does it go into gear or sometimes doesn't shift into first? Lol but it could be the trans man. I replaced mine cuz of a similar situation but it also had similar symptoms when my clutch exploded

i can put it in first fine but if i press the clutch in real fast while leaving it in first itll start grinding too(1/3 to 1/2 the time)

im pretty sure the syncros are going out in the first three gears(5th was going out in my eclipse) but i wouldnt think that would cause that big of a grinding problem..

maybe the first few gears are worn out bad lol

bought primer, body filler, sand paper and a sanding block. now i guess i have to do stuff to my car

I like small hatchbacks but I am just not a fan of the mini's.
