Am I a punk-ass for putting stock suspension to raise my car up for the winter? I see alot of slammed + snow pics out there, I just figured salt+$1500 coilovers=me sad in spring time. Is it ok to ride coils in the winter? How much of an upkeep do you need to do? Like wash everytime you drive or wat

if your coils are good they should be coated and made of a material that will not rust. While salt and what not is not good for metal and rubber and what not, your car has lasted this long, and if you're driving your car in the snow, you might as well drive your coils in the snow, because there's no use wasting one without the other.

Don't be a pansy like me and park your car for the winter. I miss my car.

thanks for the reply, thought my ? was gonna be lost so I just did some research on my own. My stance coils def aren't rust proof, considering theyre about 1 year old and have surface rust on the threads just from dding in new england. I'm looking for wheels now so when I throw em back on and slam it I don't look like a retard driving around with stock sunken battleship wheels. It's not like i'm trying to be crazy rally driver in the snow anyways and I usually only go out and drive after they plow the roads. Gotta sack up and clean em up, anti-seize the shat out of em and throw em back on. Then I can say goodbye to 4X4 status forever

And I don't go to ghey car washes anyways, I just wash my car at my house. So I figure if I rinse off the salt once a week I should be good. i'm not too concerned about the threads as much as f'in up the seals. I just don't want to blow my new (to me) coils by driving them in the winter then not be able to enjoy them when the nicer weather comes back.

anybody get hooked up from stance? I guess they came out with a 2nd version of their rucas for the s13/14. My buddy got a brand new set sent to him for free and he doesn't even have to return his old ones! Pretty schweet if you ask me, and look who inherited a free set of stance ruca's to go with my stance coils

I recomend getting a second battery and charger. The battery doesn't last as long as I would want it too and the car charger is rad to have so you can rotate batteries

I filmed some awesome crashes today. three of my buddies ate shit off a 15-20 foot drop in a row. I also had some gnarly crashes. this little camera us tough as hell. I can't wait to see the footage and edit.

My 28 hour EMS storm coverage shift is finally over. I had to pull my 240 out of the snow drift that encapsulated it with a fire engine. Wish my fuckin camera on my phone worked so I could have documented the awesomeness. Now to go have fun on the streets before this shit melts. Right to farm communities are awesome, we use like 1/8 the amount of salt normal towns do so it doesn't fuck up the soil. That makes for extended snow driving fun unless it's sunny and warm out.
