from what i hear they pass a lot more people than they do fail. the fail section isn't really THAT long.

oh how I want a 06' gto! I got a quote for insurance from geico and they said it would be $2680 for full coverage every 6 months....

I think I would go with the liability which is a much more affordable ~$450 every 6 months.
I heart sandwiches.

does your car smell like burnt ass when it bottoms out constantly? I still don't understand why my car bottoms out soo much after using a grinder on the front beam and front apron..

Another thing on my mind.
When daily driving, do y'all downshift/engine brake when coming to a stop, or just use your brakes and then downshift when you're at a complete stop?

I use brakes until I come to a complete stop daily... brake pads are cheaper than a transmission and motor.

Feb 20 2010, 08:20 AM
Thats what I prefer, Going around a slow corner I'll downshift to 3rd or 2nd, but when coming to a stop I just push in the clutch and brake then shift to 2nd when fully stopped.
I hate riding in peoples cars when they engine break early, the engine sounds like its crying.

Feb 20 2010, 02:43 PM
When I actually had a 5spd (*tear*), I'd downshift to engine brake going down hills and around corners and whatnot. If I was coming to a complete stop, I'd just clutch in and brake though.
Dustin
Feb 20 2010, 05:20 PM
I always just pop it into neutral when I'm coming to a stop, downshift and braking when just slowing down

i like to practice heel-toe when i'm driving by myself, but if i'm giving someone a ride, i just pop it into neutral. i'm not a fan of holding the clutch in for extended periods of time.
Zach
Feb 20 2010, 07:50 PM
I'm the same way, I'll just go into neutral if I'm with someone else, but if it's just me, I practice heel-toe downshifting.

Feb 21 2010, 05:17 AM
I used to rev-match my downshifts just because I don't like using my brakes that much for some reason lol I think it just sounds cooler, but I also don't like red-line it when I downshift, never more than 3.5k unless I was going through a corner.

Was gonna put a deposit down on an r32 gtst to be brought over this week or next week, car would cost around $10k total.
It'd be dope to have a skyline here and all, but still, stock early 90's car for $10k is kinda upsetting. I was looking into getting an S15, they run around $17-18k and once again, the whole stock car for that much thing raised its head.

got home from class today to find a ups box with mud flaps + brackets.. Went to remove the ancient bolts from the bumper on my bug to hook up the brackets. 3 out 4 of them snapped even after being soaked in PBblaster.. no mud flaps for awhile I guess, just hope my bumper stays on now.
*ghetto rigged mud flaps, they drag everywhere. Already broke one in half, they are not very flexible.
