@ louis this is the europian economy model called a "spaarkever "
it has the upright lights but the oldstyle blade bumpers ( fenders arent correct should have horngrilles ) and are 6 volt original .
@ dubhavoc eyelids are just slip in but these are real oldschool ones are much smaller then the new repro ones wink.gif
i have a real oldschool roofrack too not a shinny new empi repro

5 inch beam with cb performance dropped spindles ( twice as expensive as others but much better quality ) adjusters an no shocktowers .
rear has 2 klicks wink.gif
front tyres are 175/55/15"
rear tyres are 195/65/15"
rear wheels are widened to 5.5" ( original are 4.5" )
changes are coming as in new beam ( 4" with shocktowers )
wider wheels for the rear ( 6.5 " and use the 5.5" ones at the front )
other tyres 165/55 front and 185/65 or 195/55 on the rear
wheels will be john deere green too wink.gif
also i'm making another engine with a friend who is a mechanic .
car will be used for a very big roadtrip in 2013 summer so i'm working toward a very low but drivable car .
Trip will be 2600 to 3000 miles on very bad roads blink.gif

Thanks Spekkie.
On my bug im probably going 2in narrowed beam for now.Ima go 4in later on, Puma adjusters, lower the rear end 1 click or 2 clicks. We'll see.
What motor you going with.

I wonder how that John Deere green would look like.

Sorry for the late reply
But please just go for a 4 inch at once and buy yourself a set of good quality dropped spindles ; for the rear go 2 clicks and notch the springplates wink.gif
if you put a 2 inch beam you will want to go lower in a matter of weeks and will need too modify beam again or search an other one .
drove my beetle daily for 4 months at this rideheight and it goes very well ! ( and you should see the roads and speedbumps over here )

I'm going to build a simple 1600 only riechert carb kit other rockers ( i think thats the english name ? ) and a home modified exhaust .
All parts will be balanced and weighted not aiming for high performace but reliability .
