if a work wheel or an enkei breaks its usually after a fair smash iv known rotas to blow chucnks out the back of them on mild potholes over here.
and at least your broke work or enkei isnt a wanky copy |

blah who cares. I'll rock rota's any day. affordable, decent sized, and the replicas are slowly getting better.
a wheel is a wheel. i've had my sportmax 002's since they were first released and never had them break on me. a couple fake rivets have fallen off but no breaks. not even after i got in a serious car accident and was impacted pretty much right on/next to the wheel. -------------------- |

point of the thread is i thought it was amusing. and im sory but if a wheel smashes its life away on a small pothole the quality is pretty shite.

fake wheels do not give man points. i couldnt agree with you more. but any wheel made of aluminum tends to crack more than bend if fatigued enough. so any wheel is susceptible to making a huge mess and breaking into 20 pieces. from these pictures we have no idea what caused the breaks, so its tough to judge. i wouldnt say rotas are coming up. they are still what is wrong with the car scene today, still junk. -------------------- ![]() |

Towards 70mph on a twisty backroad, slight issue with a big puddle and gravel in my old eg resulted in hitting the bottom of a stone wall, the stone tore the side out the wheel, no cracks any were else.
Ill stick to not buying shit wheels. As above knock offs are killing the car scene be it wheels, parts etc. Would you be proud of buying fake nike's? ![]() excuse the shit phone pic. |

haha i get what you mean. but just look at that team dynamics i posted! every single spoke ripped off. what about the stock 350z wheel too? shit happens
like i said, i dont like knock offs at all, but not for that reason. more for the reason that i know they are knockoffs, and dont support any good company or economy. i have the same philosophy for alot of stuff now. spend a little more now and help those companies grow that deserve the business. this is the same reason hks pulled out of the us market. they werent selling anything here anymore, its all cheap shit. all the tools that are sold at hardware stores now are cheap. my grandma's lawnmower that we got when she died lasted 25 years because it was GOOD. now the one we have probably wont last 10 years because its cheap too. people dont want to save money and spend it on worthwhile stuff anymore. its all about whats cool now and get rid of it later. you wouldnt believe how many designer clothes from the last fad are still in thrift stores literally brand new. its sick how much shit we go through. -------------------- ![]() |

fake wheels do not give man points. as much as thats true i could care less about man points or fake wheels. just as long as they're pushing their car be it road racing, time attack, drift, etc. put those wheels to work and its all good. not much of man if you buy legit wheels on a car you're building to "park hard". but then if you're another dude building a car to tear up at the track and you're rocking rota's, that takes away "man points"? lol -------------------- |

but hard parked legit wheels always look better, same as 100mph rear entry drift with 18x12 ssr's on the rear smoking themselves to death look better than any rota/ knock off wheel ever will.
My opinion on knock off parts will never change, if you cant offord the real deal, save real hard or look for bargans. |

My opinion on knock off parts will never change, if you cant offord the real deal, save real hard or look for bargans. WTF are you talking about? At anything more than a slow roll you can't even tell what the wheel is. So don't say legit LOOKS better than fake at 100mph. Legit wheels hold up better than the fakies, so using them on the track is a good idea because a dirt drop could smash a fake wheel to bits and not even damage a real wheel. For hard parking I could give two shits it's just like women with fake or real purses. That shits just for braggin rights. Most people don't buy BRAND NEW legit wheels anyways so they can't even be elitist about it. I just don't know why there is such an uproar about this shit. If anything it is putting demand on the bigger name companies not to charge as much for their product so they can compete. Instead of just giving up(HKS). I watched a tidbit on magnaflow, they make everything from start to finish of their exhaust systems in the US. And they still are competitive with their competition that makes shut overseas. They just found ways to make their company more efficient so they could pass the savings onto the customer. Wheels are wheels. Buy em for what you want, but don't hate on some other dude for using his money the way he wants. -------------------- |
