Not super surprised they did it because people have been cranking out high number out of smaller boosted full race engines for quite sometime now. Usually they are built for f1 cars and races last about 2 hours. This they built for LeMans so we how to see if squeezing that much power for so long will last. The more horsepower you add, the less it will last as you are pushing its boundaries. Example: top fuel drag cars that have to be rebuilt every pass.
