so I was wonerding if anyone has any suggestions on lighting upgrades and what kits they like. my car had a dual headlight setup with 9005 and 9006 bulbs, but when i swapped to vento its now a single chamber with an h4 bulb. the lighting really sucks. i want a relayed headlight harness and possibly hid kit. once again...suggestions?

Why not just go with a simple HID kit? I had 6000k HIDs in the Corrado which has a way worse lighting harness than the MK3. Only about 7 volts reach the actual bulbs so you can imagine how bad the lighting is.
I really liked the HIDs as they were really bright. Id go with 4300K though..theyre just super white.

Also there are caps available that cover the upper half or third of the bulb thus reduce blinding oncoming traffic.

Retrofit projectors? Not sure how clean your want your HID's lol

do i have to get the caps seperate? i have never heard of this. is there any kit you would recomend? why would you recomend the 4300k over the 6000k? how hot of a bulb can a vento headlight use? i was told for US spec mk2 they cant use a very hot bulb because the housing is plastic and it melts, but the e-code headlight housing is metal and glass and can handle more heat. I probably will go with a hid kit and relayed harness for more juice

im not really ready to do a projector setup. i woul have to have custom vento projector headlights made for that. Or I could swap back to golf front which includes a hood, headlights and grill. Its not really worth to do that swap since the projectors produced are after market mk4 look.

That's why I said retrofit projectors into your current housing. The projectors have real nice cut off beams that direct all the light to a certain area, whereas putting HID's into a regular h4 housing or whateva it will be everywhere.

I honestly don't care (some do), I just made my own HID kit through ebay and my lights were beaming hard at night. Definitely a lot better than stock

If you know how to solder you can easily make your own relayed harness and run H4 55/100 or 80/100 bulbs. If you don't know how to solder, well its really easy! I made one for my car, it made a huge difference and I don't blind other people like drop-in, projector-less HIDs. 100W bulbs on a relayed setup light up more white than stock anyways.

Or if you really want to run HIDs, do a relayed harness anyways. The power to your lights currently runs through your lightswitch... Lighting setups isn't exactly the best on older VW's hehe..
