I don't have much experience with it but I know a lot of guy's who have polished their aluminum dirt bike frames, and have tried all kinds of things to seal it, even clear coating over it and that eventually scrapes off too.
He's right. Maybe though, they've somehow managed to create a product that applies some kinda sealing coat on raw metal.
I've been running polished wheels for about 5 years now and used Autosol and Alu-Magic on my previous polished wheels. Dont know if they sell these in the US though. Both are abrasive metal polishes, not sealants. I would use one of these like once a week to keep the wheels shiny.
My buddy uses Meguiars All Metal Polish for his polished Audi TT Fat Fives. But they're way easier to keep clean and shiny as they're forged wheels.
