I was on clubroadster and people were saying that you can only remove the very low part of the rear fender liners. I wanted to remove the whole entire thing so i dont have to worry about rubbing while slamming haha. Has anybody with an NA miata removed their entire rear fender liners? Seems like some cutting would actually be involved if you were to remove them.

Pretty sure i never rub.

Are you talking about the metal inner fender thats part of the unibody?

you could cut stuff out, but i would probably weld something back in there (higher up of course).
These are unibody cars too so i would be concerned with structural integrity (the entire body acts as the frame)

you would be doing what a lot of muscle car guys (and mini truck guys and so on) do, make wheel tubs.

like so

Thread starter what are your wheel and tire specs? You should not be rubbing the metal above the rear wheels even slammed

Ya I don't even rub, and I'm running 15x10j et-12 in the rear

Why would it matter if you rub? I rub in the rear over big bumps when my coils are on soft. I don't really see why it would matter... After all, you are slammed so you cant be worried about comfort or noise...

mine never rubs either...only on really hard bumps. are your tires really big?
