So I put my car away for the winter, Ohio winters are brutal on low cars, and plan on doing some work
Input on low budget shit would be nice

I already have megan streets, and would like to upgrade the following.

1. Brakes
2. Wheel spacers
3. Tie rods and ruca

I'm not trying to do any crazy work, I just want to be super low and extra slow in the spring.

Thanks

Brakes? Get Q45 calipers and sentra SE-r rotors which are 4 lug. If you're 5 lug then do Q rotors also.

Why wheel spacers? What wheels do you have now and what size are they?

As far as tie rods, if you're looking for angle correction on a budget then do S14 inners with Circuit sports outers. If you don't care but just want a small upgrade over S13 stuff, then do S14 inners and outers. As far as RUCAs, Megan/isis/circuit sport are all pretty much the same so just get the cheapest you can find.

And lastly, welcome!

1. Brakes - Stock calipers with prodject mu's in the rear and hawk hp + up front

2. Wheel spacers - ebay? got some 20mm of there had zero problem.

3. Tie rods and ruca - stock s14 inner and outer, rucas - i really like the new powered by max design.

Project mu and PBM aren't necessarily low budget friendly.

But why would you want to half ass shit? I know I woulding. Those two things are like 375 bucks so its not that much either soooo

Do it right the first time and don't worry about shit breaking later
David48
Well he did mention he's on a low budget.
Ivan the Terrible
We both know owning a 240 isn't a cheap, shit breaks more often than buying cool stuff happens.

low budget builds are a waste of time and money. we were all there at one point, heed our advice and do it right once so you dont have to spend time and money later on.

You can have a legit daily car, just have to be patient and save up

it's like looking into a mirror

I loved my no budget 240sx. Bit it wasn't really a looker.
Stock sohc, slammed on tein ha that were locked full low, all stock arms.
Drifted the crap out of it....

But if you want a pretty car, save and buy pretty parts, if you want a car to drive hard, drive it hard, fix what breaks.

For brakes, good pads do wonders, I like ceramic pads, maybe $50 all four corners on rockauto.com (love that place)
I don't like spacers, if you plan on buying wheels, put the money towards the wheels.
I replaced my inner and outer tie rods with oem (rockauto) and pbm tie rod spacers. Awesome for maybe.$65 total.
Here it is, this even helps just driving around, turning radius is tiny.

But for what it's worth, this entire car cost a lot less than just a set or works.

And I would rather have a whole car than expensive wheels.

This is coming from a person who has almost zero car budget.
Like others said, if you want expensive stuff, save yo money.
I'm doomed to not have a perfect car, been saving for months to just get coils for my miata. sad.gif
