Full Version: Something I've noticed since getting a 240.

Well I've had my 240 for about a month now. I came from a civic, and I've noticed a difference in how the two scenes are.

Not saying this is true or a fact. This is just my opinion and what I've experienced so far.

When ever I drive by another 240, and we both see each other I get a thumbs up, or a nod. It's like a reaction, they seem more friendly.

When I drive by a civic, I get grilled, a glare, or they try to show off/race me. Same thing when I had my civic.

I'm not the kind of person to be rude towards another person for having a different car make. I like all cars, especially the 90's.

Idk just a thought. Can anyone relate to this in some way?

Yes, I too have previously owned a Honda and it was the same with the whole mean mug/racecar rev/etc. With the roadster guy's its the same way, thumbs up/nod/etc. Pretty cool stuff

Even when I had my Civic, other Hondas would still try to race me or intimidate me. Don't get me wrong hondas
are nice, but it's those kind of things that give them such a bad rep.

Ive been around honda my WHOLE life so yeah that intimidation crap happens way too often. And people would be like " omg here comes another honda dry.gif". but whenever id ride around with my cuzin and hes friends (there like the only ones with 240's basicly in this town) people look and when they see that its hoverinq over the road and its not a honda theyve given us thumbs up and such.

Maybe people who have Honda's on your area are just douchebags? haha
Never noticed it anytime I've ever been in a Honda.
Even in my bro in laws civic, which used to rock a big R32 style front bumper and a big rice wing.
Well, once a guy on a bike, and one time some guy in a WRX, but thats it.

Well I moved from Virginia Beach to Hawaii and I'm seeing similar things with the Hondas. But that could be true.

Eh.
A lot of older dudes in the Honda scene have moved on, and this is probably why.
Some still have Honda's, but don't daily them.
Dunno, assholes show up in every car scene/hobby for that matter. tongue.gif

Yeah in my area it seems that every guy who drives a ragged out looking import or domestic that's been modded has to mean mug and just be a dick. The cleaner the car, the nicer the driver seems to be. However in my Supra I did get nods and thumbs ups from other Supra owners, even with that awful paint job lol.

i was just talking about this to a friend
especially about fake parts like on anything real shit is better but it seems like a lot of the honda scene judges more than others

i think it has to do with car rarity and true car enthusiasts. I drive a miata and anytime i see anybody in another na, or even nb and nc, its an instant thumbs up or a wave. Because you automatically know that you both love driving and love the car were in haha. Hondas can be great cars, but a lot more dodo birds buy hondas than 240's because theres just more civics out there that happen to catch the bad eggs.
