Idk if I'd go through the trouble to be honest, man.
You probably better off selling it and getting something not carb'd

Well what are you gonna do when smog rolls around? In order for it to be legal you'd have to get it bared. Tooo much moneys

its not passing smog with the motor thats in it thats y im doin this swap
ive brought it to a shop and no one can figure out what is wrong with it
right now i have have a friend who can have it "smoged" but because the problems with the motor right now it hardly runs and by the time it needs to be smoged again i can have the time to rebuild the stock motor
i was thinking about a e15et would that work i think the bell housing is different but thats the only difference i think i would like to be told if i am wrong

KA's are always dirt cheap and reliable. people swap them into 510's and Zs a lot. im sure there is info on a KA swap

in all honesty, i would just go with a newer injected four or six from any nissan. there isnt too much custom fab (motormounts and possibly transmission crossmember.) and you may have to grab a frankenstein oil pan to get it to fit but go for an SR or KA if you want cheap. if you want outside the box, go VQ series or even VG series. just make sure they are all DE and not E because those arent as reliable.

swaps are never simple. something always comes up and you'll have to keep it in the garage longer. SR swap it and be done honestly. they are super reliable once you get em running.

if you swap a E16i or GA16i from a B12 Sentra since it came in the same chassis you shouldn't have to have your swap BAR'd. you'll need the motor/whatever to make the trans bolt up/ECU and harness/fuel system components since fuel system for a carbureted car is different. I imagine this swap is along the lines of converting a SR5 AE86 to a GTS engine wise. though it's a Sentra and you should ditch it honestly IMO. if the state still offers it, they'll give you 1000 bucks to junk this car since it won't pass smog, it just needs to move under it's own power at the junkyard. that's what I did with an 87 Civic a bunch of years ago (I think 2007), same issue you're having now. feedback carbs are stupid.

...what? nothing wrong with the VG30E. with boost they make tons of power easily for very little money, and easier to work on than a VG30DE. and neither would really be a good option in a FWD car.

I don't know where you mail the form (this form, right?
http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/80_BARResource...ms/cap_app.pdf)
you can also expedite it by taking it to a BAR field office (there's only 12 in the state, I don't know if there's one close to you)
if you include a copy of your 1040 from last year I bet you meet the low income requirements to get 1500 instead of 1000.

I believe I mailed it in. I honestly don't remember, it was over 4 years ago, and I think the process has changed. the yard I scrapped it at in Santa Paula is no longer on their accepted yard list.
