Well, didn't really know where to put this, so thought i'd leave it here.

Well, a lot of stuff has changed, and I have had ideas flying around my head about what to do when / if (more than likely when) I pass my driving test... and I had a crazy idea.

I'm a MASSIVE fan of the italian job (the classic one, with michael caine), and so had the crazy idea of doing the italian job route, in 3 classic minis, with like 10 of my mates (well, would be four guys in each mini). This would comprise of driving down to dover, ferry to calais, and then drive through france up to the swiss alps, over the alps into italy to turin. And then back again.

Found a route too that a car club does, was thinking of looking and creating a same / similar route:

Just a random thought, wondered what your opinions were? I know its gunna take aaaages to plan and stuff, just wanted opinions on the idea XD

That shit would be so sick! I love the original "Italian Job". Buy my air plane ticket and I'll come too!

wanna try and get funds up by 2014, as it'd be 45 years since the original came out. It's gunna take a loot of planning, and even more cash, but think it'd be pretty sweet if I could pull it off. want to try and make a documentary out of it too.

Gunna be a big dream, that I really wanna make happen...
deolio
that would be quite a fun adventure.

Cheers dude! Got a lot to think about if I wanna do it. Really wanna try and get media involved and such... Would be pretty epic, and defo a money boost hopefully, as 3 classic minis is gunna be expensive tongue.gif

is it really that expensive to travel by car across the pond?

i just did a trip almost that distance this past summer and it wasn't that bad.

i think it would be a cool trip, although i doubt any trip across europe is really a bad one.

It wouldn't be the cost across the pond, its the whole cost of buying the minis, travel papers and stuff, insurance etc. going through three countries too tongue.gif

For the moment it's a dream. Dunno how, but still want to get media involved...
krammitthefrog
