Any coilover with camber plates, and you'll need rear upper control arms and toe for the rear.

you'll need a lot more suspenstion modifications than just coilovers and arms. you would need to have some custom fab work done. and it would drive like crap. getting wheels that are closer to fitting, lowering it, a tad of camber, and doing fender mods would be a better route imo...

hey hey. he wants mad camberzz not safe comfy driving.
tell him how to get mad camberzz, not the right way to get cool a nice looking stance.

Nov 5 2010, 03:07 AM
coilovers would be a start. buy some. im all for new/different things. if you had gnarly camber like that it would be pretty sweet, as long as its low and the wheels fit good. to get camber like that it is going to be a lot of custom stuff and fender work. more than just adjustable control arms and a fender roll. do it and prove us all wrong....just hurry up

It's called "test fitters". So I don't buy really expensive rims and they don't fit

heavy wheels with that type of offset takes away from the zippyness of the car. the steering wont be nearly as crisp, not to mention the weight of those is probably double the stock wheels

Well the Weld Import Drags. Apparently weigh about 10 lbs each (without the tire). Still waiting for them to finish making "it"
EDIT: THe Diamond Racing Wheels weight about 22 lbs each (without the tire)... .
EDIT 2: "It's" only a matter of time 'til the Weld Import Drags "come in"

right, even with light ass wheels, a track width that wide is going to kill steering response. this, if you ask me, is the whole purpose of a car this light and agile.
Zach
Nov 7 2010, 06:53 AM
I'd go back to stock wheels, if I was you.
No way your going to get those Diamond Racings to look good in that size.
You would need so much suspension work, and body work also to get those to fit.
I bet those make it feel terrible to drive too, compared to stock.

I'm confused are you trying to get performance action or just for looks?
Cudda_Kine
Nov 8 2010, 03:02 AM
I never said anything about performance. As well as getting the Weld Import Drags. They will be much lighter on my car so they will make my MPG higher (at least)
EDIT: and look "nicer" than the Diamond Racing Wheels
kfed
Nov 8 2010, 03:06 AM
Meh, so you're going for more MPG/lightness of the wheel.
"Beauty is pain."
My new wheels are about the same weight as Diamond Racing Wheels (approx. ~20lbs/ea) lol

you could have measured your old wheels and you wouldnt have had to buy "test fitters".
as far as getting camber like that you have to modify control arms maybe even tub your wheel wells and with out the right specs your wheels are gonna be hitting your coils, arms.
pornstarSR
Nov 8 2010, 05:01 AM
own up, those cant be test fitters. that size would no way shape or form fit on a stock bodied mini.
if you just come clean and say you wanted to try and make them fit, maybe people wouldnt give you as much shit for it.
but they are right, the are a horrible idea in that size and offset. diamond racing or anything else.
fit wheels to the car, not to the popular wide and offset you see in the magazine the day before.

woah woah woah wait, so those are "test fit wheels" ? and you are getting a set of Weld wheels? based on your choice of wheels so far you're better off building a drag car or rock crawler.
keep it real bro, don't attempt to do shit because its hella fucking trendy.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/cirocksf/4963...32341/lightbox/that will look 1,000,000,000,000 times better than anything you can think of doing with either of those wheels. dare you to disagree

gap or not, look at page 1 of this thread and tell me that yellow thing is better? not every car in the world has to be tucking tire to be dope. all I'm doing is trying to show a legit example of a clean well put together mini. Not some attempt to follow a current cheap trend.

I just want a really aggressive look (for my lttle girly car, yellow, mini cooper, cheese). I think the wider stance makes "it" look more... .
This is normal though for a place we live "in/on". Here's an example

I know "it" is a truck. But I really like "this" look. I would actually lift my car and put bigger tires on "it". But I wouldn't be able to legally drive "it" around on roads.

That look does NOT belong on a mini cooper. That style belongs on old school mini trucks and should stay in the 80s and 90s.
dude I'm just trying to point you in the right direction. First think about what kind of car you want to do this to. I mean hey, if you want everyone to bash you for ruining a mini cooper thats fine. just get some clean good fitting wheels. Leave the retarded over poke to low riders.
different styles belong to the car community from which they originated. Thats how this whole car see IMO got ruined as of the last couple of years. too many people wanted to clash different styles together to " try and be different". Then everyone starts biting off of each other thinking its original, and it gets to the point where people think of stupid ideas to "try and be different." get rid of all of these stupid wide wheels, get some coilovers and throw the stock wheels back on. would look way bettter slammed on stockies then monster trucking on 4x4 wheels.
anyone disagrees? well then you are probably cruising on the trendy train.

qft. cars like minis were meant to be nimble cars, not toyota pickups. minitrucking is about cruising down the blvd making 10 pt turns with custom 4 links and some sick fabrication.
taking a mini and completely fucking up the physics with the suspension and steering is taking a few steps back imo.
if you want my opinion, i'd say get some team dynamics. reasonably priced, light, quality wheels.
i swear if you ditch those boat anchors you'll love driving your car so much more

Nov 9 2010, 06:38 AM
just throwing this out there....VW gtis were originally meant to be light and nimble too and look what most modified gti's look like...not like race cars. and talking about suspension geometry on a slamburglars forum is almost breaking rules. nobody needs to get all car enthusiast and purist on the kid. we told him our opinion. he is going to do what he wants, and he knows what we all think. he can do what he wants. now lets all chill and try and keep slamburglars a positive forum even if we dont agree with what he is doing.

bro i'm not hating on you, just giving you my 2 cents. i had a slammed car that rode retarded. i hated it so i raised it up and actually started driving it in events and i wish i had done it much sooner.
you can do with your car what you wish but i can guarantee you will get over it. just ask anyone here if they ever wanted to get a stock daily. EVERYONE has had that thought cross their mind.
