I'm Zach
I'm from Santa Barbara, Ca Heard about you via a Hamburger Loving/ vw enthusiast that's been using this forum forever I drive a recently acquired 1986 mk2 vw golf: diesel. The car was in bad shape so I've been slowly restoring it to glory. I've been working on cars for a while but this is the first time I've gotten to customize my own. I'm very excited to have my own and excited to have a forum on which to receive input and advice.

so i dont like it when people go out of their way to do "rat look" cars and purposely rust stuff. I just wanted to show you that all you really need to look good is be low and have nice wheels. A car can be rough around the edges and pretty beat and still look aggressive. Once you get er running and working good, time for suspension and wheels. The details come later

MK2s are so damn cool, I personally like them even better than MK1s
What Kev said is truth and goes for VWs even more than for any other car. Drop-n-Wheels - nothing else. I figured out a quite nice set up for my buddy's mk2. 16x8 ET8 square on 195/40/16s with a little camber in the rear and factory camber up front maxed out. Should sit roughly flush on rolled/pulled fenders just for reference. -------------------- QUOTE Originally Posted by FunfGang: Run bags if you want, they look cool and are super hip.
