Alright guys, so I just picked up some 15mm spacers for the meisters that i have..

the problem: there's no holes in the back of the wheel for the OE studs to go in. The stud sticks out about 11mm extra which makes a big gap in-between the wheel and the face of the spacer..

what should i do? (get the wheel professionally drilled? Slip a 11mm spacer onTOP of the 15mm?)

tia,
ben

i was actually thinking about this a week earlier, the only thing i would think would be easer is get bigger spacers but what else is possible besides getting the wheel itself drilled for the studs to go into.

They're bolt on, correct? Shorten the studs or figure out a way to convert to lug bolts to bolt the spacer to the hub.

You could pull the studs out and either use bolts (if they were threaded hubs) or press in shorter studs (if they were pressed in)

Are you using adapters? Or can you find some 15mm spacers that aren't bolt on (just go between the wheel and the hub with no extra bolts)? Although depending on the wheels, 11mm might not be enough for safe engagement of the lug nuts.

well i could make the OE studs shorter, though i don't know how safe that would be.. lol

yeah they're bolt on.. and the studs are super stuck in there.. lol.. like won't budge even if i hit it with a hammer. Maybe i should start going to the gym more often and then hit it after i've worked out. LMAO

Yeah, i found some H&R's that aren't bolt on, but i just ordered a set of 15mm and 20mm Ichiba spacers.. sad.gif 5x100 anyone wanna buy?

it all comes down to either shaving the stud, or getting new spacers..

I've ran into similar problems in the past. Just cut off 3 threads off the OEM studs with a grinder and it was pretty legit. If I remember correctly if you get 5 or 6 solid turns with your lug nut it'll be pretty legit.

general guideline for fasteners is you want at least as much engagement as the diameter of the fastener. So if it's an 8mm stud, you want at least 8mm of thread engaged.

so after doing more research, turns out i'm just going to grind it off.. lol seems pretty safe as long as the fastener is locked on and a little bit of the stud is still poking out of the fastener.

the faster is sunk into the spacer so i'm sure it's got enough engagement..

referring to dave: The fasters are smaller than 15mm though, so i'm not really sure how that would work with my spacers.. errr =\ could you further elaborate? lol

umm... Ok so the stud sticking out of the hub is probably 8-10mm in diameter... so that means you're going to want the nut to go down 8-10mm onto the stud. It doesn't haven anything to do with the thickness of your spacer really, you just need to make sure you don't grind off so much that you are only getting the nut to thread down less than that 8mm or so.

Not sure if that helps explain at all...

ahhh that helps a lot!! but fuuuh, i think i'm grinding down more than 8mm, but there is still more than 8mm left on the stud. (i think) lol

thanks again dave!!! can't wait to cut that isht off and put the tires on the meisters for LCL

do your shaving, throw some whiteout on the threads, put the spacers on, put the wheels on, whatever else you need to mount, then take it all back apart and make sure you rubbed off enough of the whiteout.

Don't want a wheel falling off at speed, no matter what the speed is haha.
