Raceland Coilovers Options

Found them on ebay, pretty cheap but well built.
Seen them on BMW's, Scions, Honda's, VW's, etc.
Most applications are under $400, and that's for FULL COIL OVERS.
There's a ton of reviews on the net for them, they seem like pretty good coil overs to me, and I might try them out on a civic.

you can race all over the land with them.

if you arent building a race car then fuck it they are the best for slamming since they are cheap seem to be pretty good. my friend had a set on his mk5 and they ride pretty good, i was impressed with it and the quality just not so much the packaging hahah

Not building a race car but I thought about doing some auto-cross and shit like that.
I'd really like to get some $2000 coil overs but it's just not worth it for my "spirited" DD-ing and maybe like 1 auto-x a year.

Some people say they get bouncy the lower you go, other say they get stiffer.
I cant find there official site either, only ebay ads so I can't see all the applications.

the lower you go with any coilover the stiffer and more bouncy they will be. you loose shock stroke when you lower a car, so you will be riding more on the spring, unless you get roll adjuster ball joints that raise the mount point of the upright and put your suspension geometry back in spec. i noticed a huge difference when i raised my car from it being slammed. it handled better, rode softer, soaked up bumps better. all around goodness, but it just doesnt look right unless im flush or tucking wheel. so im gonna slam it for now & deal with the harshness till i can afford some moonface roll adjusters

no not like that, she'll b stiffer than a teenage boy @ a porno shoot. but it will b bouncy as in if there is rough road it will shake you because its soo stiff. and bad concrete freeways that are poured in sections will be fun. you cant even hold conversation because your voice starts bouncing. but its all good, you'll b able to whip around corners & transitions will b a breeze

you get used to it. and remember that all coilovers are going to have a break in period. they will ride real stiff and have almost no reflex at first, but give em a month or 2 and u'll be riding like a cadillac. well not even close, but they will ride better with time. & invest in a good plush seat while your at it, or stick some memory foam in your stocker.

I'm about to pull the trigger on these as well. It was either Racelands or S-techs going on this month. And for the price, I'd rather go for the coils. Lowest I've seen them priced is $265 for my tC. I haven't really heard bad things about them either. The only hate I hear from them are from people who don't have them and consider them suspect.

The gf actually offered to buy them as a Christmas present, so they're probably going in after the holidays. I'll post up pics once they're installed. Don't know if dropping the car during the winter time is smart, but I've been needing this drop baaaaaaaaad.

I haven't bought them yet because my gf is actually the one getting them for me for Christmas.

But I think their eBay store still might be cheaper though. Like I said, for my tC it's $264.10 but with free shipping. On their site, shipping to my area is an extra $56 via fedex. The total cost of my springs would be $296 vs. $264.10. I'm not sure how much it'd be for your car, but I'd probably still get them off of eBay.

Someone who was wary of the price on the scion forums actually e-mailed them and got this back from the company.

"Eric,

Thank you for your interest in our coilovers, in order to keep the cost down we took our design and had them produced in one of our factories in china. even more because our coilovers are new in the US we decided that we would offer a limited amount of them at a rock bottom price to get some of the sets out there for people on forums to do threads and reviews on. We figured it would just take a few people to try them and then they would see the quality of our product.

The coilovers have the ability to be daily driven or raced on no problems, but different states and countries have different requirements for certifications so we use that as a disclaimer.

Great to hear there making there way to the scion forums, we have most of our coilover traffic on Volkswagen and BMW forums, We think the scion tc is a great car and have been doing development on performance parts for the tC.

I'm still a little nervous about getting them myself, but that price is just too unreal to pass up. I doubt they'll be able to hold up well auto x, but hopefully they'll be able to ride well enough for just a daily driver.

yeah thats what im thinking too. they'll b find for DD, but the second they see some real abuse a shock will blow. eh you get what you pay for. fast cars aren't cheap, and cheap cars aren't fast

so the only reason i see the coils being so cheap is that they dont come with top hats. so no camber adjustment or pillow ball goodness which usually sell for 250 alone. they will prob ride better with the stock top hats on the street, but you wont get that direct feedback a pillow ball top hat gives. other than that, the springs and shocks look 'OK'. but i dont see how you can get 3 inches of drop out of em without preloading the shit out of the spring. there is no bottom bracket to adjust, its all incorporated into the shock body. but i have only seen the pictures of the display model on their site. the actual model specific units could be different

I was looking them up last night and someone on a VW forum asked how low can they go, and a bunch of pictures were posted that looked pretty slammed.
For $300 the price really cant be beat.

I just checked the website, and they don't even make a kit for my car.
