welll.....i can take this wicked far. so toyota made 4 4 door luxury sports sedans based on the same chassis. chassis code x. they were cressida, cresta, chaser, and markII. so if you look at cressidas as what they really are, which is a fucking wicked badass 4 door that served as inspiration for the is300, yeah, they're pretty sick. here are some of my favorite examples...

cresta

cressida...

ameens badass cressida after a full season of being thrashed....

i need to stop now. but they are fucking awesome, if you devote the time and money to make them not suck. the factory motors, the m series. are trash, the bane of toyota's existance..so it needs jz or uz or it will eternally suck.

i think they are for people that cant afford a bigger/better 4dr to drift, so everyone started buying old ass cheap 4 drs, a few guys did some cool shit, they everyone bought them, made them into a cookie cutter faboy car, and still only a dozen are atually cool. the rest are modded like shit

There isnt a bigger better four door to drift that isnt an x chassis. But you're right, too many people jumped the bandwagon and ruined it. We're a pretty tight knit community of enthusiasts though. And the ones that are doing it right are REALLY doing it right.

and i DD a 1966 ford galaxie.

Im just saying, there are WAY more badass 4 doors to be drifted, but again, people dont want to do the work. theyd rather buy a 500.00 car, put a 1500 engine swap, and 1500 in coilovers and wheels and be super tyte yo

You have to be kidding me. I know a few people doing big bodies. Can it be done? Yes. Are they as good? Not a chance. I could five speed swap a crown vic, doesnt mean its going to be as good as an x chassis. Every thing bigger will weigh more. More weight equals more power, stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, bigger tire, and more weight transfer which all adds up to slower transitions and a less nimble car. Screw that. Lighter, long wheel base moderate power with awesome response. Nothing comes close to an x chassis in that respect except maybe a laurel if we're talking 4 doors

subaru with a RWD conversion (been there done that) Is better than a cressida IMO (driven both at mobara)

and if that was the case, then why are there so many 100 and 110s drifting? they are MUCH bigger than a x chassis, and actually pretty much a y33 in size

100 and 110 are x chassis. Also, the weight did not increase substantially over the x8 due to the rudimentary way toyota built the x8's to meet federal crash safety requirements. So realistically they weigh the same with about 40 additional tq because of the addition of vvti on the 1jz. Btw, an x100 is demensionally and in the case of suspension and brakes the same as an is300.
