for the mk5 platform in the US it is called a rabbit, everywhere else it is a golf.
technically it is still a golf. but when you look and order stuff you just need to make sure it is for the mk5 platform and you should be good. what kind of exterior parts?

like oscar said.....just know its the mkV platform and your all good

here you go
http://www.slamitonfks.com/
http://golfmkv.com/
and of corse vortex
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zeroforum?id=142
main thing is tho....slam it on FK's, then bolt on mercedes wheels and you got a sick mkV....and put back in the stock grill. In my opinion rabbits look great all stock plus wheels and slam

dumped rabbit with cleaned up bumpers and a badgeless grill and maybe euro lip?

26k miles

yes its mine, not thinking. owning.

im very impressed with that car.

ok thanks guys, yeah i have been searching those forums. exterior i was first thinking the gti front, but that turns out to be a bigger deal to install. then was thinking the thunder bunny front. but might be a bit too "crazy"

this grill on it right now is some cheap bay shit ( was on the car, and no stocker, sadly). and i want it GONE NOW. so im trying to figure out what i want to replace it with. oem, or badgeless.

looking for a votex front lip, but fuck me i cant seem to find a decent picture of what it actually is.

hmm, i think this will be it

ecs tuning has the FK badgeless grill and notch fillers.
(cant link the pics because they are "dynamic" and the forum doesnt allow it)

but it looks like the black one, except the black one has the notches molded, rather than just with inserts.

argh, then that means painting the inserts to match the body.... was trying to stay away from paint ( non oem paint atleast )

and the votex is also available on ecstunning.com

the factory grill always looks good in my opinion. if you go badgless i think it looks weird when the notches arent molded into the bumper/hood....but if your going to fill em i say go for it

I'm no VW buff but I've always thought OEMplus is a good place to at least get an idea what kind of cool OEM shit there is you can put on your car since their shit is $$$

thanks i will look into that site, i quickly looked at it last night, but didnt investigate too deeply.

im going to call Vw today, get a price on a factory grill. im really hating the one on the car now. and i want to check the recall/ tsb history of the car.

but fuck me, last night i went for a drive. threw the usually "driving" roads we frequent in SB. I forgot how well stock vw's can handle.

The cupra r lip is from a seat cupra r (duh) and even though it is an OEM vag part it isn't readily available from the dealer. Lots of online retailers have them or you can get them at a vw dealer in mexico haha. Never seen one on a mk5 though. Mainly mk4 r32s.

Good pick up, though. I like sage green a lot.

yeah the 5 cylinders are nice. is it the 170/170 or the 150/150....or at least ithat should be close to the factory hp/torque. the newest issue of pvw has a super sick mkV rabbit that is turbo'd

you know oscar and harry work at the dealer right....and they get discounts right.....
oh and i think the only difference between the 150's and the 170's is the coding on the computer. if you find out what was changed maybe you could work out a deal with a certain mechanic who works there, who also happens to like pinstriping

oh yeah, didnt even think of that. harry!

as far as finding out
"whats changed" in the computer..... thats like trying to find a virgin in Isla vista. but if you mean see if anything mechanical has changed and just run the new ecu..... then yeah that could be an interesting idea.

apr makes tunes i guess, but the car has to be flashed physically, you cant just send the ecu. guess they make 180/201 on 91

ill keep thinking and researching.

so i decided to hit the grill with some flat trim paint i love... SEM trim paint.

also to see how to work on the thing.

but the mesh was silver before, and the plastic was just raw. so maybe this will look better for the time being till i either find a grill someone swapped out, or buy a new one

so ill give it a day or two and see how i like it. if i dont, then ill just buy one. if im alright with it for a bit ill wait till i see one pop up on the forums.

already looks better. yeah those computers have long coding and you can go in on a VAG-COM or the VW scan tool and change numbers around to mean different things. i think people on then VAG-COM forum on vortex might know. There are several thing you can change such as auto up/down windows with your key fob. it is a euro coding but you can go in and change it. I think cort on west coast euro has a vag com if you ever figure out the coding
