2004.5 Jetta GLI, Stancing Options

Hey guys, I have a friend who has a Jetta GLI and I just helped him put the new racelands on it. Helper springs out in front and perches out in back.... originally, Car was so low he said he could barely drive it lol. so we put the perches back in and raised the front back up some. He says he is still having some problems rubbing cv axels and possibly more up front... Performance went out the window once i started tlking to him about slamming it and stancing it so we arent worried about taking sway bars and whtever else we need to out... Who all has lowered a mkiv Jetta and wht all did u remove to keep it from rubbing the hell out of stuff?

Remove the front sway, notch the frame.

there are a few guys on here with slammed mk4s. your not supposed to raise the car back up and put the perches hack in! but yeah the alxe will hit the sway bar and the body. you can get longer adjustable sway bar end links, remove the sway bar, and get a new one that goes under the axles instead of over. also if you want to be slammed you need a chassis notch or just deal with the axle rubbing and it will eventually wear through. the professor had a self notching chassis on his old car

Sweet, thnx for the info guys. I was the one who actually sold him the car so i had done some research when i had it and told him about the sway bar a little and i told him id notch the frame but i wanted to make sure before we started hacking away lol
